Arm-waare

Justin and I went to Wilmington last weekend to go to the Ivy Cottage hoping an armoire we saw there would still be there. We were waiting for it to be on major sale before we bought it. It was not there :( On the way home, we stopped in Dunn, where Lee's furniture is located. We found one. We were looking for one that was not TV ready, but pretty much all the new ones are built that way. The one we got was only $500, and a nice size and matches pretty well with the rest of the stuff in our bedroom (we would not have gotten it if the colors did not match). So we went all the way to Wilmington to get something in Dunn.

It was quite interesting trying to get it up the stairs and into the bedroom with just the 2 of us. Luckily, it came in 2 parts. The bottim part was the easy part and much lighter than the top part. Using a hand cart and all or our might, we managed not to drop it down the stairs and set it up in the bedroom. The only thing we needed to do was run to The Home Depot and pick up a hanging clothes rack to install (<$5). Now all of Justin's clothes are in our bedroom. He does not have to go in to the other bedroom to get anything. And two of the bedrooms' furniture is complete, ours and the lake view guest room. So now when you come visit, you can actually put your clothes in the dresser and bureau in the bedroom instead of living out of your suitcase.

Poor Kitty

Iggy got fixed on Thursday. We took him over to Rachael's on Wed night at group and he got to spend the night with her (haha). Everything went fine, but he cried from when Rach picked him up until I got him home and let him out of the carrier. He was so happy to be home and see Hobbes and G. He was very loving that night and the next morning. I think he was happy to be home and hoped to never leave again. We are hoping this will calm him down a little. Of course, even Hobbes still has his crazy times.

Genius Bar

Sunday I went to the genius bar. But not because I was a genius. My Mac needed a doctor... but then it was not my mac that had the problem. It was the disk I was trying to use to update my operating system. The genius was great. He even updated my operating system for me. I just had to spend all yesterday afternoon at Southpoint waiting for it to finish. Well... that allowed me to get 5 new tops from NY & Co. (all on sale of course) and an ipod ("Justin bought it" for me for my birthday). When I got home, I got to spend the evening doing more updating and then finally putting my music on the ipod. Well worth it! I had a great time listening to it in the morning and during my planning period. It was nice to listen to a variety of music instead of the same CD all day.

We also went to Bed, Bath and Beyond on Saturday and got 6 paintings/pictures for the house. They look pretty good. It was nice to have 6 20% off coupons to use also. Got to love getting things on sale!

27 is a perfect cube, 29 is prime, but what is special about 28? It is divisible by 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, and, of course, 28. I thought there was nothing special about 28, but then Dad said it's perfect. That is right, 28 is a perfect number.

A perfect number is a number where when you add all of its divisiors (not including itself) together you get that number. The first 4 perfect numbers are 6 (1+2+3), 28 (1+2+4+7+14), 496 (not going to even try), and 8128 (your turn). So enjoy 28 while you can because it is the last age you will be perfect :) Unless of course you lived in Old Testament time.

30 is a good number too, expecially when you have a class of 30 students. It is divisible by 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, and 30. You can split your class into even groups with 30 students - unless, of course one is absent.

Luckily, they still love each other.

We have had Hobbes for about a year and a half. He has grown so much, but he is still my baby kitty hobbes (or hobblet). When he comes to lay on my lap, I am sometimes taken off guard by how heavy he is. I still think of him as that baby kitty. I guess that is how all parents feel with their children.

Between a lot of traveling this summer, I decided to do something with my hair. It was getting really long, and I was getting tired of dealing with it (and I was getting random headaches). I decided to give it away - almost a foot. Here are some before and after pictures of that wonderful event.

Hurricane Hanna

A picture is worth a thousand words!

Last night we were finally hit by a hurricane (it has been a while). This morning when I looked outside and saw we got a lot of rain. How did I know? Well just look at the before and after pictures of our dock.
